Sameer Exports
A brass hardware manufacturer in Aligarh had two scanned paper catalogues and an old site. I turned them into a searchable catalogue of 910 products that importers can browse, shortlist and ask a quote for.
Status: Live client site. No prices on purpose: the business quotes per order, so the cart is a quote list.
Problem
The whole range lived in two scanned PDFs. No product data, no clean photos, and buyers abroad had no way to search or shortlist.
What I built
- A pipeline that reads the scans: OCR, product codes, sizes and finishes
- 910 cut-out product photos on white
- About 1,000 generated pages
- A quote list in place of a cart
Current state
- Live on GitHub Pages
- 65 category pages, search and filters
- Printable PDF catalogue, full or per section
- WhatsApp enquiry on every product

My role
Everything: the extraction pipeline in Python, the site generator, design, copy and launch.
Why this matters for hire
It is a data problem before it is a design problem. I took messy scans, built a repeatable pipeline, and generated a large site from clean data, so one correction updates every page that uses it.
Stack and process
Python for OCR, parsing, cropping and image clean-up, then a static site generator. Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript on GitHub Pages, with Product, Organization and Breadcrumb structured data and a sitemap for search.
